Maria Jefferson Chapter, NSDAR

2016-2017 Program Calendar

The Maria Jefferson Chapter meets the second Wednesday of each month at 1:00, unless otherwise noted. Prior to each regular meeting held at the Maria Jefferson Chapter Room, members are encouraged to have lunch together at 11:30.

September 17, 2016 (Saturday) 3:30 - Constitution Week Ceremony, “Bells Across America,” in the downtown plaza. Please wear colonial dress if possible and your insignia. Also remember to bring a bell to ring.

September 17, 2016 (Saturday) - Constitution Week Luncheon sponsored by the NE Florida Regents Council, 10:30. 4028 Timuquana Rd. Jacksonville.

September 23 - 25, 2016 (Friday - Sunday) - FSSDAR Fall Forum at the Hilton Hotel Orlando Resort, 1751 Hotel Plaza Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830, phone (407) 827-4000.

October 12, 2016 (Wednesday) - Dr. Thomas Graham - “The Making of Silent Movies in St. Augustine”

November 9, 2016 (Wednesday) - “Notable Native Americans You May Not Know” Please wear your Native American dress or jewelry.

November 11, 2016 (Friday) - Massing of the Colors; Veterans Visits & Distribution of Gift Bags

December 11, 2016 (Sunday) - Christmas Party at Moultrie Trails Clubhouse. Bring a dish, an item for the “spirited” auction, $3 for the room rental, and a childrenʼs book.

January 11, 2017 (Wednesday) - Virginia Hassenflu - “The NSDAR Founder Who Walked in the Footsteps of a General Who is Buried in the St. Augustine National Cemetery”

February 8, 2017 (Wednesday) - “Hidden History: Profiles of Women” Wear your prettiest hat in honor of women.

February 18, 2017 (Saturday) - George Washington Luncheon- NE Florida Regents Council. 10:30. Marsh Landing Country Club, 25655 Marsh Landing Pkwy, Ponte Vedra Beach.

March 11, 2017 (Saturday) - Dawn Lemongello, Vice Regent, FSSDAR - “Love of Country: Expressions of Patriotism Through the Years”

March 16 - 19, 2017 (Thursday - Sunday) FSSDAR State Conference, Orlando

April 12, 2017 (Wednesday) - Linda Norris - “Some Historic Homes of Lincolnville”

April 29, 2017 (Saturday) DAR marker ceremony for Juan Francisco Ruiz del Canto, Tolomato Cemetery

May 10, 2017 (Wednesday) - Maria Jefferson Chapterʼs Awards Reception

May 30, 2017 (Tuesday) - Memorial Day, Massing of the Colors - St. Augustine National Cemetery

June 14, 2017 (Wednesday) - Flag Day
